Why do we fix
Fascias + Soffit?

We believe a roof restoration is not complete without the right gutters, fascias & downpipes to compliment your roof. Roo Roofing has over 23 years of experience in providing Specialist Roofing Services to Brisbane and surrounds.

Fascia boards and soffits add a finished look to your roof and promote a healthy roof system. A well secured and complete fascia and soffit system prevents pests from entering the home and adds a level of finish that is expected from a properly finished or renovated home.

Have a look up at your fascia and soffits. If you see timber rot, water stains, flaking paint, missing timber, sagging soffit sheets or rotten and timber moulds then call Roo Roofing to assess your home. Roo Roofing can submit a quote to fully restore or replace these crucial elements of your home. Roo Roofing can also quote on any other associated carpentry and painting works required to renovate or maintain your home or building.

Fascia

There are many different styles of fascia. They are generally composed of timber or metal products. Some can be a minimal size that is primarily used to support gutters and finish the ends of roof rafters. Some of the 1900’s to the 1930’s Queenslander homes often had no fascia’s at all and relied on the ends of rafters to hold the gutter spikes. This was more of a budgetatry measure of the day rather than a styling issue. The ends of the rafters on these homes often rotted over the years which usually allowed gutters to sag or fall as the ends of the rafters will no longer hold the gutter fixings. Installation of a new fascia returns a solid fixings and adds a classy and more finished look to that style of home.

Others types of fascia can include entire fascia facades that are very visually prominent. The larger fascia facade was fairly common in 1960’s and 1970’s construction styles and usually associated with a very rectangular style of home or unit complex. These fascia facades can be one to two metres in depth and often surround the entire top of the building. These types of fascia facades Roo Roofing can often replace these with custom designed Colorbond panelling. For an extremely spectacular and classy finish we can also design and install Alucobond facades for that extra wow finish.

So no matter the type or style Roo Roofing can fully replace or restore fascia and fascia facades using the best suited products to achieve the desired finish.

Soffits

Soffits, or also commonly known as eaves, are often an overlooked aspect of the home.  Bubbled, crazed and peeling paint on soffits is a sure sign that your soffits are requiring a freshen up.

Unfortunately, for some homes of the age where they do require a freshen up, the soffits often contain bonded asbestos. Restoring a bonded asbestos soffits is generally not advisable. Bonded asbestos soffits more often than not don’t come up that well after being just painted.

Roo Roofing can remove the asbestos soffits safely and replace them with new modern fibro soffits and timber moulds then paint them to finish. This provides two massive advantages:

1. Removing and replacing asbestos from the home makes the home safer and provides an increase in the home’s overall value.

2. A new soffit improves the look and finish of an older home, increasing the streetscape appeal and therefore also increasing the home’s value.

Roo Roofing can provide package deals with multiple aspects of external renovation that are realistically and economically priced especially when getting them with other roofing services.

Carpentry

Often we find when providing quotes for roofing and guttering works that there has been flowing on damage from the leaky older roof and gutters to the below structure of the building. Not just the fascia and soffits as mention above but to the external cladding of the structure such as weatherboards and window frames. It is also not uncommon to find rotted timber rafters, stairs and other vital structural members of the building structure. This is particularly common in older Heritage Listed properties, Queenslanders and homes built prior to the 1970’s that have had roof and gutter maintenance neglected for a long period.

Roo Roofing has the extremely special set of trade skills and expertise to renovate or renew any part of your home, industrial or commercial building.
